Reeder is your all-in-one inbox for reading, watching and listening to content from various sources.
From Unread Counts to Timeline Syncing
Say goodbye to unread counts! With Reeder, your timeline position is synced across all your devices, letting you pick up right where you left off.
Shared Feeds
Turn any tag into a public, auto-updating feed that can be viewed in any browser or added to any RSS reader that supports JSON feeds, making it simple to share your curated content.
Unified Timeline
Reeder supports more than just RSS feeds. It integrates videos, podcasts and social media posts into a single, streamlined view. While it’s not meant to replace full-featured clients, Reeder offers a centralized way to keep track of everything you follow, with the option to open content in other apps (if supported) when you want to dive deeper.
Filters
Create custom timelines with filters based on keywords, media types or feed types.
Save and Organize Links
Easily save links from Safari or any other app to Reeder using its share extension, keeping everything organized and easy to find.
iCloud Sync
Reeder only syncs what’s important — your subscriptions, timeline position and tagged items (including Links, Favorites, Bookmarks and Later) — across all your devices using iCloud, making syncing faster and more efficient, with changes pushed to your other devices within seconds. Content is fetched directly from the sources, ensuring you always have the latest updates.

Version 2025.3
TIMELINE CONTROLS
The item list now displays a count of newer items in the top right corner. This isn’t just a label, it’s a button that opens a menu with the following scroll options:
- "Timeline Position": Scroll to your saved timeline position.
- "Today": Scroll to the oldest item from the last 24 hours.
- "Top": Scroll to the newest item at the top.
Additional Details:
- “Timeline Position” and “Today” are only shown if the date of the current position is older than the target.
- You can choose between a count button in the list or a toolbar button (without count), see Settings → General → Timeline Controls.
- On iOS, tapping the status bar by default will now scroll to the saved timeline position instead of scrolling to the top. If you prefer the old behavior, you can set "Status Bar Tap Action" to "Top" in Settings → General → Timeline Controls.
NEW
- Swipe Left to Navigate: You can now swipe left in the detail view to load the newer item from the current feed or timeline. While the swipe gesture might not work everywhere within the detail view (depending on its content), swiping from the right edge (iOS) or the toolbar (macOS) should always trigger the navigation.
- Keyboard shortcuts j/k (go to older/newer item).
- The podcast player now checks the episode text for chapter markers when they aren’t embedded in the audio file.
CHANGED
- iPad mini: The default portrait layout will now use the full screen detail view. If you prefer the old behavior, you can set Preferred Layout to "Regular" in Settings → Display & Layout.
FIXED
- Some Bluesky feeds not updating.
- Potential crash when refreshing Bluesky feeds.
- Scroll position issues when selecting a reply in the detail view.
Bewertungen und Rezensionen
A Long-Time User, But Not a Fan of the New Subscription Model
I’ve been a dedicated user of Reeder since the Google Reader era and use it daily, almost every 5 minutes. I’ve purchased every iteration of the app on both Mac and iOS, from Reeder to Reeder 5.
The app remains as great and reliable as always, with excellent features that I’ve come to depend on. However, I’m not fond of the recent shift to a subscription model.
While I understand the need for continuous revenue to support updates, I personally prefer the option of a one-time purchase, even if it comes at a higher price. Several apps offer both options, and I believe providing this flexibility would be a great addition for long-term users like myself.
That being said, the app is still a fantastic tool, but for now I will be sticking with Reeder Classic.
Cool tech demo, but a step back from the previous version
I understand the urge to experiment with new ways of doing things, but for someone who’s been using feed readers for 20 years, a complete paradigm change away from the tried and true read/unread tracking into a more Twitter-client like experience is not an improvement. I hope you reconsider.
Für mich kein Fortschritt…
The new app is not progress for me. The approach of the “Classic” app is much better for me. I simply want an RSS reader that helps me to quickly check website updates across all devices. To read texts, categorize them and file them. With this app, everything I need takes much longer and is more cumbersome. Synchronizing in particular takes too long.
