LinguaSnapp is a project to develop a multilingual landscape map of Manchester, UK. App users can help discover the hotspots where more than one language is in common use, and what those languages are, by uploading photos of the multilingual signs, posters, leaflets and other texts around them. We are interested in towns and cities from outside Manchester too; in fact, anywhere in the world!
As well as uploading the geo-tagged photo, app users are invited to identify the languages and alphabets in the multilingual text, add translations, include information about the context, analyse the purpose, and more!
