Immich is great

I love immich, such a great project. Absolutely worth to pay a donation and support them!

Nice BUT

With every release they publish everything gets broken. With 20k images a very time consuming task every now and then. Also the development is focused on image recognition and other fancy stuff although they should focus on a robust backbone for the communication between app and server. Also not having to do it all over again everytime.
Another annoying thing are the thumbnail images and the GPS coordinates which still be interpreted randomly wrong. All in all a broken piece of app. I will come back in some years and hopefully you found your way.

best selfhosted photos app

I've been using Immich for a couple months now and I have no complaints, switching from Google Photos was also pretty manageable. I am not missing any features.
