The Loire Valley during the 15th Century. As influential princes, the players devote their efforts to careful trading and building in order to lead their estates to prominence. Two dice set out the action options, but the players always make the final choices. Whether trading or livestock farming, city building or scientific research, many different paths lead to the prosperity and prominence of the players! The many ways to gain victory points in this building game require careful thought round after round along with extensive planning ahead. Thanks to the different estates, the game remains challenging for the players for a long time, as no two games play out alike. The winner is the player with the most victory points at the end of the game.

Excellent game, confusing app design
This is one of my favourite board games and the app does a good job translating the gameplay. I don’t know why they chose to make it isometric, though — there’s a huge amount of wasted screen space and all the 3d animations slow down gameplay without adding any value. The app also relies heavily on icons and has minimal text explanation, so it’s difficult to figure out what things mean without trial and error. If they added an option to display the game in 2d with fewer animations I’d bump this up to 5 stars but as it stands, it’s another fun game with a perplexing interface
Could have been better but still pretty good
The actual board game is fantastic. This adaptation should have been much better than it is. A 2D view would be better. A points track that showed all current scores should be obvious. Less wasted screen space would also be nice as would the ability to stop animations.
It’s nice to have competitive AI opposition though. Better than I expected.
But if I didn’t already know how to play then I’m not sure if I could learn from this app.
It’s still fun to play but sometimes I lose without understanding how. I was ahead then I wasn’t. It needs, like Carcassonne has, a list of end game scoring.
Fantastic Game
I have been playing since day 1 and I’m totally in love. The online play is great. I love that you can go from game to game (turn to turn) without reloading or heading back to the main title screen.
My only complaints are minor. —The “hard” version of the AI is beatable almost every time. —The ranking online does not seem to update if players bail mid play.
Worth the cash.
