Excellent

By far the best text editor and development tool on iOS. This is a truly professional tool that has improved at a steady pace over the years. It really should cost more than it does — we need to support these kinds of apps because iOS (especially iPadOS) desperately needs them.

Text navigation broken

UPDATE: My mistake. It looks like the problem may be in iOS18 as other apps exhibit similar behavior. Top marks to the developer for his excellent support.
The latest version has broken text navigation using an external keyboard. I am using an iPhone with voiceover enabled.

Developer Response ,

I haven't changed anything regarding text navigation with an external keyboard in the latest update. Please try if a restart of your iPhone fixes the issue or contact support by email with more details so we can figure this out.

Makes Developing Software From an iPhone Possible

Update: Textastic is even better on the iPad I just installed it on.

I’ve tried a few code editor apps, and I stuck with Textastic because it makes writing code on an iPhone significantly easier than all the rest. I still prefer multiple full sized screens with a keyboard and mouse, but I’ve had to use my phone for work lately, and Textastic makes that possible for me. Most of its limitations are due to the physical attributes of the device, or the constraints of iOS (thanks a lot Apple). I also really like the straightforward single up front purchase. The other app that makes software development on a phone possible for me is Secure Shellfish. With these two apps and a home Linux server, I can do almost everything I need to do for work, with the exception of needing a proper web browser to debug websites (thanks again Apple). Shellfish’s pricing is less straightforward, but I appreciate that it also has an option to pay only once.
