DOWNLOADING THE TOURS
It’s important that you download the tours (preferably in wifi) before you go. Make sure the tour is completely downloaded and you’ll have no problem using the tours offline.
BATTERY USAGE
The app uses your GPS only when necessary. Please remember that continual use of your GPS can dramatically deplete your battery. Be sure to pack a car charger for your tour.
IPAD NOTICE
You can use an iPad to take the tour, however, wifi-only iPads without GPS capability will not work.

Indispensable!
We were contemplating chartering van tour, but when we heard about this guide and all of the reviews, we decided to give it a try. I would recommend this to anyone. Not only was the audio guide entertaining and insightful, it was incredibly helpful in navigating the highway, pointing out the must see attractions, and also identifying those you might want to pass up if you’re on a tight schedule.
The way the guide is integrated with GPS allow everyone, including the driver to focus on the attractions and sites, while not stressing about where your next stop is going to be. I’m looking forward to the next tour when I can use the Shaka Guide again.

Enjoyed the Ride
Overall this app was very helpful and we loved the tips and narrative. Wouldn’t have enjoyed the day as much without the app. We would NOT recommend the Garden of Eden as he did, it cost us $40 for a family of 4, to then pay more to feed the ducks. Then a <15 minute walk to see a pretty horrible view of the Jurassic park rock and an unfulfilling view of the waterfall, which we were later told was better from the road.

Top Notch!
I heard about Shaka through a friend and when I mentioned we’d be taking on the Road to Hana in Maui, your product was mentioned. Being a cruise passenger and only having 2 days in Maui with the first including a Haleakalā sunset, I was nervous about what I could accomplish after hearing horror stories of people missing the boat. We left early to retrieve our rental car and were on the road by 7 AM. We landed in Hana with some stops before 11 AM and enjoyed the southern return for another 3 hours including some amazing stops along the way. Your app is pretty flawless and the history/mythology lessons during the breaks between stops along with the music is perfect. Anyone nervous about Hana should just buy this and get on with it.
