Narwal Freo 4+

This app has a ways to go before they compete with their competition. The app is glitchy and not intuitive at all. I find that mapping is terrible and the Freo x ultra does not map my house correctly so I can’t edit rooms even though there’s clearly walls there. It will not recognize some walls when mapping. It also should tell you in real time what the robot is doing. Right now it’s mopping but it only says on the app “vacuum then mop”. It would be nice to know if the vacuum was complete and mop began.

The voice, female or male is hard to makeout. My roomba from 2010 was easier to hear. I also wish they offered different voices such as a male with a British accent or a female with an Australian accent.

The app has crashed on me twice in 3 days. Setting up different rooms or floors annoys me. I live in a multi level house and also have stairs with landings. It only gives you 4 levels of mapping. I did my main floor and my sunken mudroom. That took up 2 of the 4 maps. What about my basement or my 2nd or third levels? What about my stair landings? 4 maps isn’t enough.

Today while running the robot on the secondary map the robot would just go in circles. On the app it said it was cleaning. I would stop the robot and move it and start again but same thing in a different spot. Then the app crashed.

I think you could make this app amazing, but there’s work to be done. I’d love push notifications to know if the robot is done cleaning, or is stuck, or is low on something, I’d love to know an Estimated completion time for a task once the robot knows how long a task takes on average.

i never really had issue since i purchased in december 2024. the app needs a bit of love but nothing game breaking. i think its good! thank you
