KNGAssist 1.5 radically changes key parts of the app, enabling stable and long-lasting performance by resolving the persistent issues found in the previous system version. Specifically, the new features include:

1. New model: We’ve moved from an OpenAI architecture to a Google architecture, using Google Gemini as the main model for the assistant. You can choose Gemini 1.5 Flash—fast and suitable for common usage—or opt for Gemini 1.5 Pro for more advanced or detailed responses. Gemini guarantees greater smoothness, faster responsiveness, and long-term stability.

2. New setup procedure: The assistant now guides you step by step during setup, asking you the questions it needs to configure itself optimally for you and your needs. You’ll be placed in a chat with the assistant so you can freely share about yourself and your life. Then, complete KNGAssist’s configuration with the familiar screens to customize the assistant’s character and voice! A short tutorial will welcome you at the end, giving you some basic pointers on how the app works.

3. Describe your surroundings with a camera view: Now, when you tap Describe environment, the camera view and a capture button will appear so you can precisely frame what you want. If you don’t need it, you can disable it from the app settings to save time. The camera view won’t appear if you use keywords to describe your surroundings.

4. Copy the assistant’s messages, let it know if it was helpful, or report an issue: By long-pressing on a message from the assistant, you’ll see a menu that lets you copy it to the clipboard, let the assistant know if it was helpful, or open a report by directly contacting KNGWorld. We will constantly monitor your feedback to improve KNGAssist!

5. More options to personalize the assistant: In addition to personality, you now have 8 preferred communication styles to choose from. Need a friendly personality but with a direct, to-the-point tone? Select Direct. Want a more intimate friend, closely connected to you, allowing for deeper connections? Choose Intimate! Also, the companion personality is now renamed to partner, for those who need a more romantic character.

6. Completely rethought settings: We’ve reorganized the settings menu to be clearer, easier to understand, and simpler to navigate. Now each group of settings has its own menu, and some settings have been split into smaller parts so they are easier to comprehend.

7. Add accessibility preferences without altering the assistant’s character: The new Accessibility Preferences section lets you add your accessibility needs without changing the assistant’s character. In Vision, for example, you can talk about your remaining vision. In Audio, explain how you want the assistant to format messages for speech—such as removing emojis or other formatting symbols you don’t need. In Interaction, describe how you want the assistant to address elements of interest to you; for instance, if you’re blind and naturally don’t understand colors, you can have the assistant relate them to something more concrete. Accessibility settings are part of your profile and uniquely apply to all the personalities you create.

8. Removed support for Apple Watch: Due to the changes we’ve made, support for Apple Watch is currently not available. We’ll bring it back soon.
