Interactive Phonics
My kids really enjoy learning the sounds, listening to the stories and practicing all the sounds.
This would be a 5* if the kids could tap the story and have it read to them. They love the little stories but I always have to read them, it would be awesome if they could listen by themselves also.
I have a 8 yo old who is a struggling reader and this app helps to reinforce his sounds, my 5 yo old enjoys learning her sounds and my 3 yo loves the stories and the actions.
We also got the Jolly Phonics Fun app and it is a great way to practice the sounds we are learning.
Intuitive layout but only one pronunciation
The layout is uncluttered and neatly organized. I find the streamlined lesson format is easy to follow. Unfortunately, though, I can’t see any way for users to change pronunciation settings, so if you teach in a region that uses North American pronunciation please be aware that an additional app which does offer both pronunciations, Jolly Phonics Songs, will also need to be purchased. I wish this were made clear in the app description before purchase.
